Concept
VPM's business concept follows the structure of a fully integrated pharmaceutical company. A project management team, in VPMīs case with full budget responsibility, is working with the relevant departments, in VPMīs case with selected partners with technological and scientific excellence specifically needed by each of the companyīs projects. Thus no investment is tied up in fixed assets. All wet lab and manufacturing steps are carried out together with partner firms and institutes. Expert advisors in the fields of regulatory affairs, legal, intellectual property, finance, quality management, public relation complement the "consortium", expertise to which VPM has access on a day to day basis !
VPM acts as a project management center of a consortium for vaccine development. Building up this open consortium of partners was a major objective of the Vaccine Inititative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Today the consortium serves as a platform to readily drive a vaccine idea from the lab bench through preclinical and clinical development towards the market.
